Health drink brand Fighter Shots secures £160k in funding

UK health and wellness juice shot brand “Fighter Shots” has raised £160k on crowdfunding platform, Crowdcube.

The funding round closed 15 days ahead of schedule after the business successfully attracted over 300 new investors and substantially overfunded at £90k above their investment target.

The new funds will assist in digital marketing and sales capabilities, acquiring retail investment and expanding production capacity. This is critical given the recent addition of a Manuka Honey shot to their range, entry to the UAE market and plans for further geographic expansion.

Fighter Shots offers 100% natural ginger-based juice shots in varieties that include turmeric, collagen, and now manuka honey. The functional drinks cater for those seeking to support and introduce sustainable and healthy food habits into their lifestyle and are claimed by customers to help revitalise, improve and protect health when consumed daily.

An early stage start-up, last year Fighter Shots commenced full-scale production in Scotland with support from key investors and London Business School’s Incubator Program.

In response to COVID-19, Fighter Shots ramped up their presence among reputable online wellness stockists, such as Holland and Barrett, doubling-down on their mission to sustainably boost immunity and vitality.

Commenting on the brand’s latest crowdfunding push, founder Anna Szymanowska said: “Bringing our customers and community on board has always been at the forefront of the business, given the nature of our product and rapid growth”.

“I started Fighter Shots with input from the London Business School community, family and friends. Offering members of the community who share our mission the opportunity to meaningfully contribute to the business was a logical next step”.

Anna’s business partner Kavita Madhvani, who is leading the UAE efforts, said: “this raise will help secure a following in the attractive UAE market in the near term and set us on track to promoting healthier lifestyles worldwide”.

The business is backed by seasoned investors with histories of success in the food and beverage industry. Among key investors is James Fairclough, an accomplished board level executive with 20+ years of experience at some of the world’s most respected consumer-led product companies, such as Procter & Gamble.

The investor base is highly diverse. Other investors include Ross Taylor from Top Cat Media, who supported Fighter Shots’ crowdfunding video production, and Robert Bradley, a Senior Vice President at CNN international who committed funds after being a loyal customer for the past few months.

Anna and Kavita are excited to build the Fighter Shots fanbase and explore further online and brick and mortar expansion opportunities, as well as product innovation.

The brand aims to sustainably boost immunity and vitality throughout Europe, the Middle East, the US and Asia by 2025.
